Hi, my name is Poppie and I want to welcome you to my world! Or at least one part of it... the fun part! I also want to take a few minutes and talk about why we are here: why I'm writing this and why you are here reading it.

Everybody has a story about their journey through the maze of Internet Marketing, and I'm no exception. Hopefully, what you read here will inspire you to continue your journey.

Back in 2005 I decided that I wanted to work from home. So I did what just about everyone else does when they make that decision. I surfed the 'net looking at every home-based business opportunity out there, and believe me, there were plenty then.

I signed up for this, signed up for that, spent lots of money and made none. I eventually came across a program that actually made sense and I joined that, too.

I won't bore you with little details like the fact I had no idea what a search engine was. And autoresponders...for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to use them. Over the years I tried at least 7 systems until I settled on the one I'm using now. To say it was all confusing is a huge understatement.

Moving right along, this opportunity I joined included a 30 day, step by step, training course. Like a good soldier, I did as instructed until I got to the part that informed me that I would need to write articles for publication on the Internet and I had to put my name on it.

Are you kidding me! I'm supposed to let complete strangers out in the world find out that I exist? Nope...not going to happen. Not only that, I was supposed to write about Internet marketing. Are these people nuts? What the heck do I know...I'm supposed to be learning this stuff!

Needless to say, I didn't follow through on that. But, I didn't give up, either.

I had a website that actually made a few bucks, so I knew there was something to this Internet/home business thing. From time to time I would take a little peak at the training I had abandoned to see if that section on article writing was still there.

Yep, sure enough, it hadn't disappeared. Damn....closed that page in a quick hurry.

Months went by and I continued my search, looking for something that I could do and still remain anonymous. After all, this was the Internet. Of course, we all know what's transpired in the intervening years...the Internet has transformed our way of life.

With the emergence of social media sites, both personal and business, it's almost impossible to remain anonymous. In fact, "socializing" and putting yourself out there is required if you want to establish and maintain an online business. I'm the least social person I know and if I can do it, so can you.

Did I ever get over my fear of being published? You bet I did. As I became more knowledgeable and more confident, I started to write. Did I publish my articles? Nope, I sure didn't...not then, but for a different reason. That's a story for another time.

Why am I telling you all this? It's simple really. When you're starting something new and venturing into unknown territory, it's natural to be apprehensive or just downright scared. So here's my advice...suck it up and get over it! The sooner, the better. Harsh statement...yes it is. But, trust me, it's the truth. The first step is always the hardest to take. But the second step is always easier. And the next...and the next...and the next.

So here we are and I can state unequivocally I'm proud to be a member of the Internet community. I couldn't be happier and, for the record, this is lots of fun!

There's lots to learn and you're going to make mistakes. But don't give up. Learn from your mistakes and keep moving forward. You can achieve any level of success you desire.

Have I come to the end of my journey? Absolutely not! There's still more to learn, more mistakes to make, more challenges to face. But I'm in this for the long haul and look forward to the next step.

I hope you find valuable information here at Your Business Builder that will help you on your journey.

All the best!

While currently living in Oregon, I have moved around a bit. From California to Georgia and several states in between. I even lived in Costa Rica for 2 years.

Even though I consider moving from state to state a pain, I do love to travel... not the same thing. I have visited many states in the US and want to get to more of them. My travels have also taken me to several foreign countries, primarily in Europe, and I plan to see more of the world.

When I'm not working at my computer, which I place in the "fun" column, I'm relaxing watching TV or reading. I work out with a personal trainer 3 times a week, making health and fitness a priority, and a permanent lifestyle change.
